Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez will defend his status as undisputed super middleweight champion in Las Vegas on Saturday, May 4.

Where and when is the fight happening?
The fight is happening at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas which has a capacity of 20,000 people. It will be available to watch on Amazon Prime and DAZN.
The fighting starts at 8pm, however the main event starts at 11pm ET and 1am UK. You can purchase the fight on DAZN’s website for $89.99.
Who is Jaime Munguia?
Jaime Munguia is a Mexican boxer who is currently undefeated with a record of 41-0, with 33 of those coming by knockout.
He is currently the WBC Silver super middle champion and is going for the super middleweight belt against Canelo.
Munguia is looking to shock the world, saying: “I am undefeated, anything is possible.”
He also went on to claim that he is “faster and stronger than Canelo.” Munguia has an advantage on Canelo with his height – Canelo is 5ft 8ins and Munguia is 6ft tall.
Who is the favourite?
The favourite for this fight is Canelo due to his experience in the ring – he has fought and beat some of the biggest names in the super middleweight division.
Despite Munguia being undefeated the odds for this fight are Canelo to win at 1/6, the draw at 18/1 and Munguia to win at 4/1.
Canelos’s record is 60 wins and two losses. Those two defeats came against Dmitry Bivol in May 2022 and Floyd Mayweather in 2013.
The fight against Mayweather ended a 16-fight unbeaten run. Canelo managed to retain his titles after beating John Ryder, and his experience will be key in this fight against Munguia.
Munguia faced Ryder and managed to knock him out in the ninth round, whereas Canelo went the full distance with him.
