Man arrested for armed robbery of Caesars Palace casino cage

A man has been arrested for an armed robbery of the Caesars Palace casino cage in Las Vegas, the police have confirmed.

The armed robbery took place just after midnight on Monday morning, and although Las Vegas Icon Caesars Palace was not specifically named initially, police said they had been called to ‘the 3500 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard’ at 12:06am.

Court documents then confirmed that Caesars Palace was indeed the location.

The alleged robber told the member of staff manning the cage that he had a gun, although he never actually produced one, according to local reports.

Police then arrested 37-year-old Jared Allen-James Booth for robbery with a deadly weapon and held him on a bond of $40,000.

It is the latest in a string of attempted robberies of Las Vegas casinos. In November Resorts World was taken for $6,000, and the suspect was later found to have been on probation for robbing the Venetian casino cage in 2020.

November also saw a robbery at the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino, and the Silverton Casino cage was robbed last month as well.

However, at this time there is believed to be no evidence connecting the Caesars Palace robbery with the others.

It’s hard to imagine what actually goes through people’s heads with this stuff. Attempted robberies in Vegas casinos are just a thing that happens, and not always the cage either. Earlier this year a man stole chips from El Cortez, and they are pretty much worthless.

I’ve never felt even remotely unsafe in a Las Vegas casino, mainly due to the amount of security they have in the building and the ever-present eyes in the sky (the ceiling security cameras), so how anyone would think they’d be able to get away from one of them after a robbery is genuinely a bit baffling.
