LAS VEGAS GAMBLING: The Cromwell casino guide

The Cromwell is a small boutique hotel among giant resorts on the Las Vegas Strip, and the casino fits perfectly with that billing.

There probably isn’t a road in the world known more for enormous hotels than Las Vegas Boulevard. The whole Strip really is just mega-resort after mega-resort. That means it is genuinely quite easy to walk past The Cromwell without realising.

However, if that ever does happen to you, you’re definitely missing out on something.

The decor in Cromwell is one of those ‘love it or hate it’ kind of thing. The deep red with black colour scheme has a bit of ‘gentleman’s club’ vibe for some.

Others love it, though, and one thing you can certainly say about it is that it is distinctive.

Gambling in The Cromwell casino

The Cromwell casino is easily one of the smallest in the Las Vegas Strip. It’s more comparable to what you typically find Downtown in truth.

There are obvious advantages and disadvantages to that, but ultimately it probably works in its favour because it offers something different.

You do find far fewer slot machines at Cromwell than you do elsewhere, though. That’s just a given due to its size. In fact, there are fewer than 500 in total. That obviously means that you may struggle to find a machine you want to play in Cromwell more than you will in other properties.

If you are feeling a little more daring, there is a specific high-limit slots room at Cromwell. It is called The Abbey and has 31 machines and VIP service.

Space for table games is obviously limited, although a couple of years ago they did expand this area at the expense of some slots. There are now 66 tables at Cromwell, which is a very competitive number compared to Strip rivals.

The usual games like Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat, Craps and Poker variations are all available, although there is no specific Poker room.

Sportsbook and drinks service

Cromwell has a very nice sportsbook. If you’re looking for something huge and impressive, this isn’t it. However, if you’re looking for boutique and pleasant – The Cromwell to a tee – then this is the one for you.

It is a lounge-style sportsbook that can seat just around 50 people in front of a video wall.

One of the great advantages to Cromwell’s size is that it makes it one of the easiest places on the Las Vegas Strip to get a drink. Waitresses have less ground to cover so come around often.

Rewards club

Cromwell casino is part of Caesars Rewards, which is one of the biggest in Las Vegas.

The location is very Caesars-friendly too. Both neighbouring properties are in Caesars Rewards, and Caesars Palace itself is located opposite. So, if tier progression is your goal, The Cromwell is a good place to do it.
