Two floors at Las Vegas resort Mandalay Bay had to be evacuated this week due to a small fire, it has been confirmed.
The south Strip property is an icon of the Las Vegas skyline, and on Wednesday there were reports of smoke emanating from the roof.
It happened late on Wednesday night, although there were no injuries reported.

The Clark County Fire Department was sent to the resort and confirmed the presence of smoke before upgrading the response.
Five engines, two truck companies, rescue crews, and two battalion chiefs were dispatched to deal with the incident, which turned out to genuine but also very minor.
“Following protocol, CCFD upgraded the response to a second alarm on arrival after finding active smoke production showing from the roof on arrival,” A Clark County Fire Department statement read.
“CCFD quickly assembled a hose line and extinguished the fire.”
When crews arrived on the rood of Mandalay Bay, they discovered a small fire at the top of the stairwell shaft.
The incident was mostly contained by the property’s own automated smoke removal systems meaning the interior of the building was protected, although two floors were evacuated as a precaution.
At the moment, the cause of the fire remains unknown, although it is still under investigation by the CCFD. They are yet to determine the cost of the fire damage either.
The important thing, of course, is that no civilian or firefighters were injured.
