Plaza Hotel and Casino have appointed a new General Manager, with Sue Ascanio taking the reigns at the brilliant Downtown Las Vegas property.
Begas Vaby have never made any secret of the fact that we love the Plaza, and it sounds like it is very much in good hands with Ascanio.
Ascanio will have seen it all before having been at Harrah’s for nearly ten years and then serving 12 in a variety of roles with Station Casinos, as well as a stint with Pinnacle Entertainment and Penn National Gaming in Indiana.
“The Plaza is continually reinventing the hotel and gaming experience in downtown Las Vegas,” Ascanio said.
“I am very excited to join the team at the Plaza because they have great energy, amazing creativity, and a true desire to provide the best experience possible for the customer.”
CEO Jonathan Jossel added: “Sue is a proven leader who has experience with all aspects of managing a hotel/casino, including the design and construction of large-scale improvement projects and motivating a strong leadership team and staff.
“Most importantly, Sue shares my commitment to enhancing the guest and team member experience. I am confident that she will motivate our team and lead operations that will ensure the Plaza remains a top-tier destination in downtown Las Vegas.”
Plaza is one of those great hotel and casinos in Las Vegas that are already brilliant, yet constantly seem to find ways to get even better.
This year the Plaza will complete four major additions in the Carousel Bar under the Plaza dome, a smoke-free gaming area, a rooftop patio at Oscar’s Steakhouse and a new branch Pinkbox Doughnuts.
They also recently added the Sand Dollar bar, so they just keep getting better.
