LAS VEGAS GAMBLING: The Strat casino guide

With so much choice in the Las Vegas gambling scene, where you choose to spend your dollars can be a difficult decision. Some visitors prefer to say centre Strip and make the most of rewards clubs. While some want a little more variety and like to explore a bit further. Let’s take a look at what The Strat casino has to offer.

The Strat is as northerly as you can get on the Las Vegas Strip. It is just as close to Downtown Vegas as it is to The Bellagio fountains, for example.

This means the casino isn’t somewhere you visit casually or on your way past to somewhere else.

What The Strat has going for it though, is that the casino is just one of the attractions at this resort. With a range of high-adrenaline attractions, restaurants and shows, the Strat really can make your Las Vegas gambling experience a ride!

The Strat was originally known as the Stratosphere and changed to the shorter, punchier name just in 2020. Most people had called it The Strat for years anyway.

What the resort is mostly known for is its observation tower which is the tallest in the United States. What’s even more incredible is that it has a number of thrill rides at the very top of it too.

Thankfully The Strat casino isn’t that high up and sits at the bottom of the tall slimline building. At least it means you don’t have to get a nosebleed while gambling.

Strat Las Vegas hotels - Recently renovated casino

As mentioned the resort is a little out of the way, I certainly wouldn’t recommend walking there. But if you do make the trip, there is plenty to keep you entertained.

As well as the thrill rides at the top, there is also a revolving restaurant and cocktail bar and some shows too, so there if want to supplement your casino experience there are plenty of options.

Gambling in The Strat casino

The Strat casino is reasonably sized. It is probably on the smaller side for a Strip casino, but double the usual Downtown offering.

What is also great is that the casino was recently renovated so you will find a really nice, comfortable space to enjoy gambling.

There are around 750 slot machines. That’s a solid selection from which to choose and the layout makes the casino feel spacious too.

The Strat Casino also has a great range of table games offering all the usual Blackjack, Roulette, Craps Baccarat games.

Amongst the 40 table games, not only will you find Craps, but also Crapless Craps offering some of the best odds on the Strip.

For those who enjoy Poker, you can play Heads Up Texas Holdem, Three Card Poker, High Card Flush and Criss Cross Poker all featuring $1 and $5 progressive bets.

A newly-modeled high-limit room provides more daring gamblers with a more high-adrenaline option.

Sportsbook and drinks service

As with all Las Vegas gambling, a complimentary drinks service is available to anyone who is gambling. Personally, I’ve always found The Strat casino to be fairly good with a regular waitress service.

If sports is where you prefer to get your Las Vegas gambling fix, then try the new William Hill Sportsbook. Situated at the entrance to the casino, this state-of-the-art sportsbook has multiple screens and comfortable seating to enjoy the game.

Rewards club

As the resort is independent it offers its own Rewards Club – True Rewards.

With five tiers to climb, you can earn points through all of your spending at The Strat. You can then redeem the points for hotel stays, free slot play and other benefits.
